Sterilisation Validation
Validation of ethylene oxide sterilisation
Prior to commencing routine ethylene oxide sterilization, a product with a sterility claim must undergo a validation process to 'ensure that the claimed level of sterility assurance is met.
The globally harmonized standard for validation is ANSI/AAMI/ISO 11135:2014, Sterilization of health care products - Ethylene oxide - Requirements for the development, validation and routine control of a sterilization process for medical devices.
